Creative diversity

Creative diversity is how genuinely different the ads in an account are from each other: in the person they speak to, the desire or problem they address, the format, and the visual world. On Meta it matters more than raw creative volume, because very similar ads compete for the same delivery.

— In practice

Ten edits of the same video are one idea, not ten. They reach the same people with the same message and tell the delivery system little it did not already know. Ten ads built on different angles, for different buyers, in different formats, give the system ten distinct ways to find a customer.

The practical test is to describe each live ad in one line: who it is for, what it promises, how it proves it, and what it looks like. If two ads share all four, they are variants, not concepts. Most accounts that believe they have a creative volume problem have a diversity problem: plenty of ads, very few ideas.

Diversity is also what keeps an account out of fatigue. When one idea tires, a diverse account has others already delivering. An account built on variants of one winner fatigues all at once.
