Advantage+ shopping campaigns (ASC) are Meta’s automated campaign type: targeting, placement, and budget allocation are algorithmic, and the advertiser’s levers are creative volume, catalog quality, and conversion signals.

ASC is Meta’s equivalent of Performance Max — a consolidation play that trades granular control for algorithmic reach. The operator’s remaining levers matter enormously: creative diversity feeds the delivery system’s ability to match ads to people, and the existing-customer budget cap is the main guard against the campaign quietly retargeting instead of prospecting.

Judge ASC with the same skepticism as any consolidated campaign: check what share of its conversions are genuinely new customers, and validate with holdouts when it becomes a top budget line.
