Your store is the bank statement.
Every ad platform reports the sales it believes it caused. Your Shopify store reports what was actually paid for, refunded, and kept. We connect the store read-only and put it next to spend from Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok, and Pinterest, so every channel claim is checked against the business.
Orders and line items
What sold, when, and for how much, down to the product. The unit that Shopping and Performance Max are actually won or lost on.
Product cost and margin
Cost of goods from your store, so ROAS can be read against what a sale actually leaves after product cost, not against revenue alone.
Refunds and net revenue
What the business kept after refunds and discounts. The number every ad platform claim is measured against.
- Change your store. The connection is read-only.
- Store customer names, emails, or phone numbers from Shopify.
- Replace your Shopify reports. It puts them next to your ad spend.
The platforms are advocates. The store is the record.
Add up what Meta and Google each claim and the total routinely exceeds what the store booked. Both platforms count the shared middle of the journey, on their own windows, before refunds. Neither is lying by its own rules. Budget set from either claim alone funds whichever platform has the more generous rules.
With the store in the same view, the questions change. Was last month profitable after product cost and refunds? Which products carry the account and which ones spend without return? Did purchases drop, or did a tag stop firing while the store kept taking orders? Those are questions about the business, and only the store can anchor them.
Add your customer list and each sale can also be classified as new or returning, which is how acquisition cost becomes a number instead of a guess. The long version is in why Meta, Google, GA4, and Shopify report different revenue.
- 01Our Shopify App Store listing is in review. Until it is approved, we connect through a read-only custom app.
- 02You approve a collaborator request from us in your Shopify admin.
- 03We create the custom app with read-only permissions. You can see exactly what it can access.
- 04Recent order history loads, then the store refreshes daily with your ad accounts.
- Is the Shopify connection read-only?
- Yes. We read orders, line items, product cost, refunds, and net revenue. We do not change products, prices, orders, or settings in your store.
- Is ADSRUNNER on the Shopify App Store?
- Our listing is in review. Until it is approved, live stores connect through a read-only custom app that the store owner approves. We set it up with you, and the permissions are visible in your Shopify admin.
- What data does ADSRUNNER read from Shopify?
- Orders and line items, product cost, margin, refunds, and net revenue. We do not store customer names, emails, or phone numbers from Shopify.
- How do you tell new customers from returning ones?
- From your customer list. You share it with us, email and phone are hashed on the way in so the raw details are never kept, and purchases are matched against it to classify each sale as new, returning, or not yet identifiable.
- How often does the Shopify data refresh?
- Daily, on your timezone, alongside the ad platforms, so a day of spend and a day of orders are always compared on the same calendar.
- Can I disconnect the store?
- Yes, at any time. Removing the app from your Shopify admin ends access immediately.
