The measurement problem

GA4 is a different product. Most migrations were rushed and broken.

Universal Analytics shut down in 2023. Most brands migrated to GA4 hastily, with parameters lost, conversions misconfigured, or attribution broken. The data looks normal in the dashboards, but underneath it's misleading the decisions teams make every day.

Conversion definitions are usually wrong

Brands measure "conversions" that include duplicates, partial actions, or events that don't represent real business outcomes. Without precise conversion definitions, every downstream metric (CAC, ROAS, attribution) is wrong.

Attribution models are misconfigured

GA4 defaults to data-driven attribution, which requires sufficient conversion volume to work. Below threshold, GA4 silently falls back to last-click without telling you. Most brands report on attribution they think they have.

Cross-domain tracking is broken

If you have a separate domain for checkout, blog, or app — and most brands do — cross-domain tracking needs explicit setup. Without it, a single user visit looks like multiple sessions and conversions are misattributed.

Server-side tracking is missing

iOS 14 and ITP made client-side tracking unreliable. Server-side tracking via GA4 Measurement Protocol captures events the browser misses. Most brands skip this entirely.

Do you work with BigQuery and Looker Studio?

Yes — both are core to how we run modern measurement. BigQuery export gives you raw data for custom analysis. Looker Studio replaces Universal Analytics dashboards with more flexible, business-specific views. We build both as part of GA4 implementations.

How does this connect to ad platform attribution?

GA4 conversions feed back into Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, and other platforms via offline conversion uploads, server-side tracking, and Conversions API integration. Without clean GA4 data, ad platforms optimize toward the wrong outcomes.
