Merchant Center is where your product feed lives: it ingests, validates, and serves product data to Shopping ads, Performance Max, and free listings.

For ecommerce accounts, Merchant Center is infrastructure with P&L consequences: disapprovals silently remove products from auctions, price mismatches erode serving eligibility, and weak titles suppress impression volume before bidding even starts.

Treat it operationally: monitor disapproval and warning counts weekly, fix data quality at the source (or via supplemental feeds), and remember that feed quality multiplies everything downstream — the best PMax structure cannot sell a product the feed misdescribes.
